Position Summary:
The Arkansas State University College of Nursing and Health Professions invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Public Health (non-tenure track) to begin in Fall 2022. The position is a full-time (9-month), non-tenure track position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include preparing, developing, and teaching online courses for a new public health baccalaureate degree. Applicants should be able to teach a broad range of courses in public health including epidemiology, biostatistics, health administration, research methods, and program development and evaluation. Teaching load is 15 hours (5 courses) per semester
- Additional responsibilities include maintaining virtual office hours, advising students, developing and recording lectures, writing exams, grading, and participating in course/program assessment
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of curriculum design, strategies to promote student
learning, assessment and evaluation of learning, evidence-based
education principles, and a commitment to life-long learning
Possesses interpersonal and communication skills necessary to teach
as part of a faculty team
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

This position has been identified as a telecommuting position. The
duties are performed during standard work hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00
p.m. at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals
filling this role must have dedicated work space that provides
privacy and security related to the work being performed.
Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with
appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties
associated with the position. Individuals in this position will be
required to review and acknowledge the Telecommuting Guidelines and
Telecommuting Agreement for A-State.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include an earned master of public health
(MPH) or a master’s degree in a public health discipline; a Ph.D.
or DrPH in a public health discipline is preferred
Public health disciplines include epidemiology, biostatistics,
environmental health, health administration, health communication,
psychology, or another related scientific discipline
Potential candidates should possess experience in face-to-face and
online teaching at the undergraduate level
