The College of Sciences and Mathematics ( COSAM ) Associate Dean for Research ( ADR ) Office is searching for a Contracts and Grants Specialist. This position will provide Contracts and Grants support for the Department of Biological Sciences and well as for new multi-million dollar federal contract.
Essential Functions
Essential functions for this position include but are not limited to: Acts as a contact person in the COSAM ADR’s office for faculty and/or departmental research administration for contract and grant award management. This person will manage the administrative and financial operations for the day-to-day oversight for grants and contracts along with other grant functions for the College of Sciences and Mathematics. This position will also perform duties to include but not limited to; working with faculty and staff on proposal development, manage multi-project portfolios for faculty, oversee a single multi-million dollar federal award, manage extension and reporting deadlines for faculty, etc. In addition, the candidate for this position will work collaboratively with the COSAM Research Office staff to provide training for faculty on proposal development, support programmatic activities of the Research Office, and support administrative activities undertaken by the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies. Duties also include maintaining records of grant activities within the COSAM Research Office. Candidate will work with the COSAM ADR and Director of Research to develop annual research reports.

Candidate must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Must possess excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task. In addition, candidates must possess knowledge of basic accounting principles, knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing for report creation, and a willingness to learn the requirements for preparing research proposal for various governmental and non-governmental and non-governmental agencies.
