The Warrior Community seeks a
full-time faculty member for the Talwar College of Engineering and
Computer Sciences. The Assistant/Associate Professor of
Cybersecurity will be responsible for teaching courses that support
the mission of the university. A strong candidate will have
knowledge in one or more areas of Information Security, such as
Cybersecurity principles, programming in cybersecurity, ethical
hacking, penetration testing, cryptography, IOT Security, data
privacy regulations, and compliance regulations (i.e. PCI, HIPAA,
and/or FERPA).
This is a tenure-track, 9-month
teaching position in face-to-face and online course delivery.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
professional development, student development, and service to the
Talwar College of Engineering and Computer Sciences.
The position includes teaching four courses per semester as
assigned by the Dean, holding eight office hours per week, and
advising and fostering relationships both in and out of the
classroom. Leading in the development of new programs and the
improvement of existing programs and curricula, particularly in the
online modality is emphasized. Additional duties include fulfilling
service and professional development requirements as outlined in
the tenure process, actively participating in student recruiting
and retention initiatives, maintaining academic records of courses
to assist in specialized accreditation, delivering effective
courses to meet the program learning outcomes, and supporting the
mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Institute of
Technology. The successful candidate will work closely with other
programs in the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences. This
faculty position reports to the Dean of the Talwar College of
Engineering and Computer Sciences.
PhD in Information Security,
Cybersecurity, Computer Science or highly related field is
required. ABD acceptable with the requirement of completion by one
year from the hire date. The successful candidate will have
college-level teaching and developing academic program and
curriculum experience. Online teaching experience is preferred.
Experience in National Security Agency Centers of Academic
Excellence is strongly preferred. Certifications in CompTIA
Security+, CEH, and CISSP are preferred.
Demonstration of the ability to work
with a diverse student population, and demonstration of developing
effective relationships with students that prepare students for
academic and career success are necessary. Applicants should be
able to use technology effectively in all aspects of their work,
including teaching. Experience teaching with a Learning Management
System, preferably Blackboard is required.
Work is normally performed in a
typical classroom/office environment. Scheduling of work supporting
online students must be flexible to accommodate student learning.
Responsiveness and availability over the summer is expected.
