Position Summary Information



Summary
Recruits and evaluates new students, supervises, and trains new Admission Counselors. Assists in and provides oversight to the campus visit program as well as all undergraduate admissions events by performing the following duties. 40 hour/12 month position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provides oversight to the campus visit program which includes hiring and supervision of admissions tour guides.
2. Continually evaluates and optimizes the campus visit experience for prospective students and their families.
3. Helps plan and implement all undergraduate and graduate admissions events to lead to overall enrollment growth.
4. Works closely with the Director of Graduate Admissions on overall strategy for Graduate Recruiting Events.
5. Works closely with other offices in planning New Student Orientation.
6. Provides oversight to the undergraduate admissions visit and events interns.
7. Supervises the guest experience of prospective and current students at the front desk of the Admissions Office in the Yeager Center.
8. Provides oversight to the class registration process for new undergraduate students.
9. Evaluates the files of prospective students for admission to the University as needed.
10. Meets with parents and prospective students regarding financial aid.
11. Conducts workshops related to admissions and financial aid.
12. Trains and provides direction for all new Admissions Counselors as needed.
13. Assists with other student services projects as requested.
14. Duties will require evening and weekend work and travel.
15. A valid driver’s license, a good driving record and reliable transportation is required. Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.   • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.

  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent telephone courtesy, knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings, and/or special events.
  • Knowledge of standard budgeting and expenditure control procedures, and documentation.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information, and to draw conclusions.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
