Job Description

Helps to maintain marketing project management standards, systems, and processes to support and improve university marketing efforts.Helps maintain and optimize NAU's marketing technical systems, ensuring appropriate access and functionality to support business and end-user requirements.Monitors assigned portfolio and resourcing health, and flags potential issues. Produces basic reports with analysis for department management to help the university make informed marketing and resourcing decisions.

Incumbents for this role must demonstrate baseline working knowledge of routine work processes, procedures, and tools. Recognizes and escalates unusual situations or problems; identifies opportunities to improve daily work outcomes through data and/or situational analysis. Follows standard benefits principles and guidelines, to ensure employee coverage and understanding of programs.

Maintenance of Department Information and Management Systems - 70%
  • Help to maintain marketing operational information and management systems; ensures that systems run effectively to support marketing project workflow and are readily accessible.
  • Assist in maintaining marketing workflow processes, procedures, and work instructions in collaboration with department stakeholders.
  • Participate in technical system assessments to meet new or changing business and end-user requirements.
  • Help maintain operational support system(s) documentation, including training materials.
  • Perform routine audits and prepares recommendations for system and process improvements.
  • Participate in operational improvement initiatives


Analysis and Reporting - 20%
  • Gather business requirements and conducts system tests to be used for recommendations.
  • Prepare defined operational reports for key stakeholders.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of appropriate handling of marketing information.
  • Recognize opportunities to improve daily work outcomes through data and/or situational analysis.


Other - 10%
  • Participate in operation-run marketing programs that require coordination across multiple marketing teams.
  • May be assigned other duties as necessary for the effective functioning of the department.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school degree.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field.

  • Baseline working knowledge of routine marketing tools, processes, and concepts, including relevant media applications and university regulations.
  • Baseline working knowledge of marketing project management best practices, including standards, systems, and processes.

Background Information

Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, an employment history verification and a degree verification (in some cases) prior to employment. You may also be required to complete a fingerprint background check. Additionally, as an employer in the state of Arizona, NAU is required to participate in the federal E-Verify program that assists employers with verifying new employees' right to work in the United States. Finally, each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities. Salary

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on experience.

FLSA Status

This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The incumbent is eligible for overtime pay or compensatory time according to University policy. Further, the employee must submit timesheets that accurately reflect all hours worked.

Benefits

This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position.
