Director of Faculty Development

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford seeks applications for a full-time Director of Faculty Development. This Director will work with faculty to advance expertise in curricular design and teaching methodologies in Undergraduate Medical Education and Graduate Medical Education. Duties include developing, planning, and implementing faculty development programs that educate faculty on teaching, learning, and assessment best practices as well as assisting in providing mentoring and individualized development plans for teaching effectiveness at all faculty levels.     

Candidates for this position must have a Doctorate degree in healthcare, education, or related field (EdD, MD, PhD, DO). At least 3 years of higher education experience in teaching, coaching, or faculty development preferably in healthcare related field. Experience with delivering training/instruction in a variety of formats (face-to-face, online, written, etc.). Assisting faculty with development of individual sessions, assessments, and feedback. In-depth knowledge of learning theories, educational technology, instructional approaches, and assessment techniques preferred. Knowledge of educational best practices within clinical settings and traditional classroom settings. Knowledge of LCME and ACGME accreditation requirements as it applies to faculty development expectations preferred.
