JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Florida’s only public university exclusively teaching science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) is looking for exceptional candidates to serve as the Campus Health & Wellness Coordinator in Student Affairs’ Campus Health and Wellness.

The Campus Health & Wellness Coordinator supports the health promotion and education within Student Affairs’ Campus Health and Wellness. The Coordinator promotes, coordinates, develops, implements and evaluates health programming on campus. With an emphasis on wellness and mental health, this role assists with conducing disability service intake as well as needs assessment for on-campus students.

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serves as a content expert in the coordination, development and facilitation of health promotion on campus.
  • Develops education programs for faculty, staff and students.
  • Coordinates the creation and distribution of marketing and promotional materials for campus health.
  • Creates online content to broaden the University’s health and wellness campus education.
  • Supports planning of mental health outreach programs, seminars and presents training and outreach materials.
  • Assists in Disability Services intake and reporting.
  • Assists in conducting needs assessments for students seeking mental health counseling.
  • Responds to inquiries for support, explains process and policies, and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Assists in identifying resources and funding sources and may assist in drafting applications to these sources.
  • Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated experience developing and assessing educational campaigns
  • Articulated understanding of trends and issues in collegiate mental health and wellness
  • Experience working with students with disabilities
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
  • Ability to work within high-traffic and crisis situations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, human development, education, or a related field and 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in counseling, social work, public health or related field with 2 years relevant experience
  • Strong teaching and technical skills.
  • Proven experience in development of supplemental instructional materials.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW:
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • This position requires a criminal background check, which may include a Level II screening as required by Florida Statute §435.04.
  • This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: This position is salary exempt. The normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., however, occasional overtime (weekends and evenings) may be required.

TARGET HIRING SALARY: $42,250 - $44,000, commensurate with experience.
