 Position Description

The Counseling and Counseling Psychology faculty in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts at Arizona State University invite applications to establish a pool for Faculty Associates for the 2022-2023 academic year who will teach Online or at ASU’s Polytechnic campus. The successful candidate(s) will teach undergraduate courses in counseling and/or general psychology; prepare class materials; evaluate student work; and hold office hours to assist students. Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of .40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in counseling or related field at time of appointment
  • Ability to teach in digital environments such as Canvas (asynchronously and/or synchronously)
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in counseling psychology, counselor education, or related field at time of appointment
  • Evidence of effective teaching
  • Licensed as a counselor, psychologist, or related helping professional (for counseling major)
  • 2-years of full-time teaching experience in post-secondary environment
  • Experience teaching in a digital environment such as Canvas (asynchronously and/or synchronously)
  • Demonstrated success meeting the needs of underrepresented students and/or diverse communities
