Job Description

PeopleSoft is used across the entire UM System, including the Columbia, Kansas City, St. Louis and Rolla campuses, as well as Um System offices and the MU Hospital and Clinics. These applications and systems are mission critical, and include the central Human Resources, Finance, and Student Information Systems services.

PeopleSoft Security Analysts are responsible for managing user access and permissions in the PeopleSoft environments. Provisioning and de-provisioning user access and performing access reviews on a regular basis.

Successful candidates must be detail oriented as well as willing and able to adhere to all University and Division of IT policies and procedures, including security and access management controls.

Successful candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week in a very busy environment. User requests must be handled quickly and efficiently.

Ability to prioritize critical work and stay organized when working on multiple tasks with completing deadlines is a daily expectation for this job.

Currently the members of the PeopleSoft Security team work remotely. Occasional team meetings, technical training or user troubleshooting may require spending time in the office, located on the Columbia campus.
Successful job candidates must be able to work effectively in a remote work environment, which includes frequent use of Microsoft Teams and Zoom. Candidates must have reliable Internet access. Computers, monitors, and peripheral devices such as keyboards and mice are provided.

This is a salaried position, and some weekend work is mandatory as system updates occur outside of regular 8-5 business hours.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing user access to all PeopleSoft environments
  • Troubleshooting repetitive and common user access issues.
  • Troubleshooting challenging user issues that may require assistance from technicians on other teams.
  • Updating, creating and managing shared security components, such as Permission Lists and Query Trees
  • Troubleshooting PS Security issues that may arise during user testing or system upgrades.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote work environment, which includes being available online during working hours for shared troubleshooting working sessions as well as being extremely responsive to customer requests, as these requests are frequently very critical to University critical operations.
Salary

$47,476 - $75,000 Commensurate with experience

Shift

Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm, some nights and weekend work is mandatory

Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous work experience as an IT professional in either a user support position, user access management position, or system analyst position.
  • Previous experience working in a very busy office setting with competing deadlines and deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical experience with PeopleSoft
  • Experience in IT access management, user account management
  • Experience providing end-user support at an IT Help Desk or in a desktop support environment
  • Experience using a ticketing system, such as Cherwell, ServiceNow or Remedy.
  • Experience writing SQL queries in a standard relational database system, such as Oracle, MySQL or MS SQL
