Position Description

The Division of Infectious Disease, at the University of Washington, is seeking a full-time faculty member as an Assistant Professor (without tenure due to funding), on the Clinician-Scholar track.  Rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a 12-month service period (July 1- June 30) with an anticipated start date of Summer 2021.

Clinical duties include attending on the inpatient ID consult service and in our ambulatory clinic. During clinical assignments, responsibilities include supervision of trainees.

The Clinician-Scholar track is appropriate for faculty members who will spend the majority of their time on clinical and/or administrative work. The track also provides the opportunity for and expectation of focused scholarship in the applicant's chosen area.

The Division of Infectious Diseases is a dynamic group of over 30 faculty members focused on excellence in research, clinical care, teaching, and quality improvement. Fourteen faculty members share the clinical responsibilities.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Applicants must have an MD, DO or MD/DO combined (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified or board eligible in pediatric infectious disease.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or foreign equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
