Basic Qualifications
- A minimum of three years' work experience in an office environment
- Business training beyond high school or college background preferred.
- Experience working in an academic environment desired.
- Demonstrated competency with a variety of computer tools (MS Office Suite, Google, HTML or other web site tools) with advanced knowledge of word spreadsheets, databases, and a willingness to learn new programs preferred.
- Experience with my.Harvard, OpenScholar, and Oracle Financials a plus.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
- Highly positive customer service attitude with ability to interact professionally with a variety of constituents.
- Ability to handle a high volume of complex tasks and projects within deadlines is essential.
- Ability to respond with flexibility to shifting priorities; must work independently and as a team player.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
- Knowledge of Harvard a plus.

Position Description
- Performs a variety of complex administrative duties to coordinate the activities and procedures of the department including: Reception: answers telephone, greets visitors, answers walk-in questions, responds to email inquiries.
- Primary point of contact in the planning of course catalog, solicits courses that faculty intend to teach, schedules courses, and maintains online catalogue. Assists in administration of undergraduate and language tutorial programs.
- Creates academic calendar, organizes events and other departmental activities including weekly teas, special lecture series. May arrange for use of facilities and advise availability of services within and outside the University for gatherings such as conferences and seminars.
- Maintains and updates department website and other print publications as needed. Solicit content and make recommendations on what content should be presented on the departmental website.
- Process accounts payables and reimbursements. Serves as principal source of information on established financial policies and procedures and advises faculty, students or staff on existing options or alternatives.
- Assists in special projects such as onboarding new faculty and admissions.
- Related job duties as required.
