Position Description

The Department of Accounting and Finance of the Rohrer College of Business invites applications for a Lecturer position, which is a full-time, non-tenure track, renewable faculty teaching position, to begin September 1, 2022. We seek candidates who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate level. In addition to teaching responsibilities, successful candidates will be required to make meaningful and substantive service contributions. Successful candidates will also be expected to participate in professional development in order to stay current in their content area.

Lecturers are 10 month, benefitted positions with a teaching load of 24 credits over two semesters, with the option to teach overloads, and the possibility of teaching summer classes for additional compensation. While this is a non-tenure track position, it is renewable for progressively longer periods of time, assuming successful re-contracting reviews. In addition, the position has a promotion path to Senior Lecturer and Master Lecturer.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities of this position include teaching undergraduate courses in accounting or finance, mentoring students, engaging in service, attending monthly departmental and college meetings, and fully participating in departmental activities.

Courses taught may include, but are not limited to, financial and managerial accounting, auditing, tax, and finance courses. Candidates must be available for in-person day and evening classes on Rowan’s Glassboro campus. Remote candidates should not apply.

Candidates must have current professional experience, substantial in terms of duration and level of responsibility, which is linked to the fields of accounting or finance.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in accounting, taxation, finance, or business and prior teaching experience at the college level. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CIA, CFA, CFP) is preferred.
