Content and Promotions Coordinator

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Position Summary: This position will serve as a member of the Student Life staff; directly responsible for consistency of messaging and long-term strategic planning with a significant focus on brand enhancement in the marketplace and outward facing items. Direct the creation and promotion of various initiatives, including marketing, to coordinate, streamline, and enhance our communication efforts. Serve as the liaison for the department to Alumni Relations, Enrollment Management, Athletics and Marketing and Communications.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Direct a comprehensive and integrated content and communications program, including but not limited to internal media and public relations, publications, advertising, promotional items, signage, Web site, e-communications, video content. Create innovative and engaging content for social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snap Chat, Tik Tok, Periscope; continually research best practices of social media use among institutions and businesses.

2. Promote and advance the Benedictine brand through cohesive and consistent video messages and content, publications (including but not limited to digital brochures, recruiting materials, facility signage and more. Direct an innovative and collaborative efforts to engage students, staff, alumni, supporters and prospective students.

3. Ensure that information is available in a timely and effective manner by developing and coordinating comprehensive coverage which focuses on all activities and includes information on students and programs. Development of analytics or measurement of communications outreach. Provide reporting and identify trends for website (page views, visits, unique visitors, etc...) and social media.

4. Direct all Student Life department photography including individual head shots, program photos, and special event photos. Manage the department’s digital photo catalog and photo galleries on the website. Assist in development and production of all video content for the Student Life website, including game highlight videos, student-athlete interviews and postgame interviews with players and coaches. Direct, Hire, train, schedule and supervise all video and broadcast staff within Student Life.

Other Functions:

1. Adherence to all Benedictine University and Division of Student Engagement policies and procedures. Work independently and creatively within established guidelines, while at the same time functioning as a member of a team.
2. Attend departmental and University related meetings and events.
3. Strong leadership, administrative, planning and presentation skills, including oral and written communications
4. Work in coordination with University offices and departments to coordinate and facilitate program needs, serve on University committees as needed.
5. Maintain high level of organization and ability to manage multiple tasks.
6. Ability to attain goals through knowledge of regulation and accreditation requirements, as well as incorporate best practices into initiatives.
7. Ability to create a culture of collaboration with all campus constituents.
8. Experience working in the areas of inclusion, diversity, equity and/or access.
9. Employs sound project management practices, methodologies, and principles to accomplish work.
10. Proven ability to organize information; assess, utilize and navigate online platforms; and conduct detailed data analysis and develop reports based on data
11. Ability to complete high-level analysis of data.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred. Degree must be in Criminal Justice and/or Administration. A high school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.

Experience: Clerical or customer service experience required. Law enforcement experience preferred.

Specific Skills: Excellent written and oral communicational ability
