Job Description:
The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level (clinical track) to serve as a Forensic/Anatomic Pathologist for the District 8 Medical Examiner Office.
- Be appointed as an Forensic/Anatomic Pathologist for the District 8 Medical Examiner Office. The office is located approximately 3 miles from the UF Health Shands Hospital in southwest Gainesville. Approximately 700 death investigations are performed annually.
- Serve as a faculty and service member of the University of Florida Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine, participating in the Anatomic Pathology Service at UF Health Shands Hospital, and contribute to medical student, resident and fellowship training in accredited programs in Pathology.
- The successful candidate will be required to provide an official transcript. Degrees earned from an institution outside of the United States are required to be evaluated by a professional credentialing service provider approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
Salary and rank are negotiable, commensurate with experience
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. degree, be board certified in Forensic and Anatomic Pathology, and possess or be eligible for a state of Florida Medical License. The applicant should have extensive practice experience in Forensic and Anatomic Pathology.
Preferred Qualifications: Scholarly study and investigation is expected. Special Instructions to Applicants:
