The Integrated Innovation Institute (iii) is searching for an Online Program Manager to support the launch and growth of new the online certificates and degree. This is a dynamic new role at the university for someone who thrives in an exciting and meaningful work environment. Online education is a new forefront at Carnegie Mellon University as a whole, and we are committed to delivering excellent online education opportunities to graduate students. These new online programs will complement our established residential master’s degrees. We are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic and changing work environment to meet the needs of this evolving educational format.

 

You will contribute to the department as the Online Program Manager for the remaining course builds and develop new programmatic content to further expand the online student experience. This position coordinates multiple aspects of online education needs, including program development and logistics, communications, and faculty support, along with student engagement and registration. This role will work closely with the iii team, campus partners and external vendors for a successful launch.

 

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure effective development and delivery on all operational aspects of the iii online certificates and degree in collaboration with vendors, faculty/staff, computing and audio-visual departments, and iii team;

  • Project manage remaining course builds with external vendor, lead faculty, subject matter authorities and iii leadership team;

  • Lead pre and post program communications with students and faculty. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation of welcome letters, logistics information, attendance verifications, technology assistance, and coordination of other faculty or student needs;

  • Online support for courses, including Canvas (LMS), Slack and Zoom, along with other systems as identified;

  • Within Canvas (LMS), ensure all instructing materials and other logistic information is posted in a timely basis in collaboration with faculty and iii leadership, both pre and post program;

  • Participate in key activities to improve communications, provide support, and address issues as they arise with students. This may include weekend, evening, and early morning hours depending on student location;

  • Connect with iii or CMU staff, as needed, to resolve, advance or troubleshoot student needs or concerns;

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of existing operational plans for program delivery and maintaining complete files on all programs, to ensure smooth delivery of future course offerings and also update schedule on a regular basis when changes are made;

  • Follow prescribed format and program delivery schedule and use current and future technology tools to increase automation and efficiency;

  • Work with iii Director of Operations to develop and maintain programmatic needs, which could include in-person immersion activities in the future;

  • Handle evaluation process and track follow-up items; propose solutions to faculty and management regarding long-term program needs.

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree required

 

At least five years of academic advising, academic program management, and teaching/instructing experience
