Salary for Announcement

The salary range is $45,300 – $68,000.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. MSU Denver offers a full benefits package.

Position Summary

Performs under direct supervision of the Director of the Office of Planning, Design and Construction Management. Serves an essential role in providing the ongoing and recurring coordination necessary to support successful project planning and execution. Assembles, organizes, and communicates a broad variety of project information to various stakeholders. Administers a broad variety of project documentation in support of the Campus Planner and Project Manager. Interfaces with Procurement, Budget, and Accounting Departments in providing and processing project documentation in the required format. Monitors work-in-progress while verifying conformance with scope, budget, and schedule requirements and advises on issues requiring action. Ensures a consistent customer service excellence approach is applied during interactions with students, staff, faculty, and all other internal and external University stakeholders.

Duties/Responsibilities

Project Coordination – 95%
  • Provide key information during planning and pre-construction phases including record documentation and information regarding existing conditions.
  • Provide and communicate various project related information to University stakeholders during project planning and execution, including general progress and status information relating to scope, budget, schedule.
  • Provide project progress reporting involving the entry and extraction of data, and the incorporation of information in various electronic formats.
  • Coordinate the procurement, delivery, and installation of project furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Coordinate and participate in on-site testing, walkthroughs, and inspections.
  • Coordinate project outages and shutdowns.
  • Coordinate various meetings during project planning, design, bidding, construction, and closeout.
  • Coordinate the processing of invoices, applications for payment, and change orders and make recommendations for resolving billing issues, problems, and inconsistencies.
  • Coordinate the preparation and processing of various procurement documentation and purchase orders.
  • Coordinate the completion, processing, and archiving of State and University required project documentation.
  • Coordinate access to project areas during project planning, execution, and turnover.
  • Monitor project work and verify conformance with project scope requirements and adherence with baseline budgets and schedules.
  • Monitor the ongoing fulfillment of contractual responsibilities by all parties and advise when deficiencies occur.
  • Monitor, track, and document expenses against established budgets and provide summary reports.
Other – 5%
Perform other tasks or special projects as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Design, Planning, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years work related professional or internship experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience working in a higher-education environment.
  • Experience working and communicating with people who have varying levels of design and construction knowledge.

Hours may vary during peak periods.
