Program Director, Clinical Assistant Professor -
Science of Health Care Delivery

The Arizona State University’s College of Health Solutions (CHS) innovative Science of Health Care Delivery program is seeking a full-time, 12-month non-tenured faculty member at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor who will also serve as program director for the Science of Health Care Delivery and International Health Management graduate programs. This is a fixed-term appointment that is renewable annually. Subsequent one-year appointments may be offered, under the same terms and conditions, at the discretion of the college and university.

The Science of Health Care Delivery (SHCD) and International Health Management programs (MIHM) at ASU's College of Health Solutions are the first of their kind in the country and represent the university's deliberate investment in future health care decision-makers. The SCHD program focuses on developing a broad knowledge base for designing a better health care delivery system. SHCD in ASU's College of Health Solutions is conceived of as a deeply interdisciplinary field of study comprising six intersecting disciplines: population health, health economics and policy, informatics, systems engineering, health care management, and leadership. The MIHM program is a collaborative graduate degree with the University of New South Wales in Australia. This program equips students with transdisciplinary approaches to solving global health and health care issues.

Through teaching, academic programs, service and research, all faculty at the College of Health Solutions address one or more of our three major areas of focus: 1) The systems of health and health care; 2) Health and human performance of individuals across the lifespan; 3) Personalized interventions through precision health. Across these areas, we work to address complex and difficult health problems which require transformative collaboration, translational research, and innovation. We are particularly interested in making an impact on populations with significant health disparities. Responsibilities for this position include serving as the program director for SHCD and MIHM graduate programs, teaching undergraduate/graduate students and providing service to the university, college, and relevant degree programs. Applicants must present evidence of teaching experience and a strong commitment to high quality teaching at the undergraduate/graduate levels. While some teaching may take place online, ASU requires faculty to reside locally within the Phoenix Metropolitan area.

The program director role and responsibilities include overseeing essential academic program functions and course instructional staffing/administration. In addition, the program director will collaborate with other faculty and leaders within the college to further community collaborations in training and research to continue to create an optimal learning experience for SHCD and MIHM students and grow and further develop the programs to meet healthcare workforce needs.

At ASU and the College of Health Solutions, we work to maximize opportunities for people of diverse backgrounds, abilities and perspectives. We value and encourage cultural and intellectual diversity, and strive to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all faculty, staff and students — which we believe is critical to our success as a community. All individuals who can strengthen the diversity of our academic community are encouraged to apply, and will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other basis protected by law.
