Fisk University has launched a search for its next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. President Vann R. Newkirk is seeking a partner who will inspire excellence and innovation in pedagogy, student learning, and academic programs. The Provost can articulate an intellectual vision that embraces the University's mission to serve the educational needs of students who seek rigorous scholarship, cultural literacy, and high ethical standards.

The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (Provost) serves as the Chief Academic Officer responsible for leading and directing academic planning towards excellence in all educational programs and research activities. The University seeks an innovative leader who advocates, promotes and embraces cutting-edge research and educational pedagogy. The successful candidate will play an integral role in charting an exciting and transformational next chapter for the University. The new Provost will take office in late summer/early fall 2022.

Located in Nashville, Tennessee, it is one of the oldest Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the nation. The University has distinctive strengths in science, business, arts, and health which are all outgrowths of a strong liberal arts foundation. The University also has internationally renowned flagship programs in music, fine arts, and natural sciences, showcased by the multi-award winning Fisk Jubilee Singers ®, the unrivaled Art Galleries, and world-class research activity.
