The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is a research university and academic health center that discovers, teaches and applies knowledge for the intellectual, cultural, social and economic benefit of Birmingham, the state and beyond. As Program Director, you will provide overall leadership and supervision for the Records Office of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine. In this key role, you will be responsible for all student educational records from matriculation to graduation. We will rely on you to:

 

  • Supervise and coordinate student registration, course scheduling, year-end promotions, reporting and fulfillment of data requests, student credentialing, visiting students and graduate document requests and verifications
  • Oversee all processes related to educational and academic records, degree audits, graduation eligibility reports, transcripts and diplomas
  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate Records Office staff
  • Serve as an information resource to students, faculty and others
  • Coordinate Banner registration and tuition/fees billing system with other School and University offices
  • Oversee course scheduling and course catalog maintenance

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in higher education administration, with 3 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with students, staff, faculty and senior leadership
  • Familiarity with student information systems and knowledge of FERPA and its applications are assets
