The Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a position as Assistant Lecturer in Architectural Engineering beginning August 2022.

Candidates are sought with expertise in Architecture. This is a fulltime, 9-month, benefitted position.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

The duties of the position are:

 To teach undergraduate courses in Architecture, including Architectural Design studios, typically three courses per semester

 To engage in professional development activities in the discipline

 To perform service to the Department, College, and the University, including: o mentoring student groups o outreach activities to program stakeholders Remote work eligibility: No. This position requires teaching in-person classes at the University of Wyoming campus.

Minimum qualifications:

 M.Arch.; or B.Arch. and advanced degree in closely related field

 Experience teaching at the college level

 Professional experience in architecture

 Familiarity with software tools such as Autodesk Revit Desired qualifications:

 Architectural licensure or eligibility for licensure

 Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

 Demonstrated teaching excellence and use of innovative teaching methods

 Familiarity with Architectural Engineering curriculum

The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering includes 24 faculty members and serves approximately 440 students. At the undergraduate level we have ABET-accredited B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering, a B.S. degree in Construction Management, and a Certificate in Cadastral Surveying.

At the University of Wyoming, Assistant Lecturers are non-tenure track academic personnel who are considered for reappointment annually for the term of a three-year probationary period. Reappointment is contingent both on meritorious performance and on the continued consistency of the position with the University’s programmatic needs and priorities. Assistant Lecturers are eligible for a fixed-term rolling contract appointment after successfully serving a probationary period of three consecutive years. Assistant Lecturers are eligible for promotion to Associate Lecturer after a period of six years.
