Job Summary

Applications are invited for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Business Law in the Department of Accounting, Finance and Business Law of the Soules College of Business at The University of Texas at Tyler with the earliest start date of September 2022.

The position will remain open until filled, but applications received by May 1, 2022, will receive priority consideration.

 

Essential Functions

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, both face-to-face and online. The teaching load consists of nine credit hours per semester
  • Collaborate with faculty in the development and improvement of curricula.
  • Continually learn and improve pedagogy to enhance student learning and retention.
  • Be actively involved in department, college, and university service.
  • Research expectations are commensurate with those of the University's Carnegie R-2 classification and an AACSB-accredited business school.

 

Required Qualifications

  • D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience.
  • Professional experience as a lawyer.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
