Utah Valley University is an innovative large, public institution

The Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) Department
educates students for professional positions at hundreds of
high-tech companies located in Utah. The IS&T Department seeks
two full-time Lecturer faculty
for one-year appointments, with renewal
possible based on performance and funding. (These positions are
placeholders for tenure-track positions.)
The successful candidates will:
- Teach a variety of subjects
- Participate in accreditation assessment processes
- Create and/or use innovative instructional materials
- Teach day, evening, weekend, online, blended, or off-campus
courses as needed or assigned
Experience teaching in some of the following fields is desired:
- Systems analysis and design
- Programming (Python, C#, R, etc.)
- Database systems and data analytics
- Web development
- Global and ethical issues in information systems
Faculty members are expected to develop and foster a learning
environment with activities that help students achieve their
learning objectives. Candidates should have a commitment to fulfill

Graduation from an accredited institution with a Master’s Degree in
Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field and
six months post-secondary teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of subject matter and course content pertinent to
Information Systems and Information Technology programs.
- Knowledge of online teaching environments, such as Canvas or
other course management systems.
- Interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Curriculum development skills.
- Teaching experience in at least three subject areas listed
- Ability to plan measurable objectives, prepare instructional
materials, and follow an approved curriculum.
- Ability to assess student work and maintain and submit accurate
and current plans, reports, and records involving student
accountability, attendance, and performance.
- Ability to assist academic advisors, the department
chairperson, and/or the program coordinators, faculty, department
staff, and industry partners in maintaining effective
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues,
and the community.
A terminal degree from an accredited institution in Information
Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field is
preferred, but applicants with a master’s degree will be given full
consideration for the position. One-year post-secondary teaching
