Libraries Job Description

Special Collections, Research Services Assistant

Salary - $17/HR

15 - 17 hours per week

This position reports to the Research Services Archivist in Special Collections. The work includes, but is not limited to:
  • Help coordinate digitization orders, including tracking orders, and quality control checking of student work

  • Supervise Smith students working on reference and digitization for researchers

  • Work to complete detailed reference requests

  • Regularly work with digital assets and assist with metadata clean up, file management, and access

Skills required:

Training will be provided for most activities and tasks. However, applicants who have an interest in academic libraries and special collections are especially welcome. Experience working with digital assets, metadata, working with students, and conducting reference or similar public services activities are preferred.

This position will have a 1-year term.
