Position Title: Adjunct Instructor, BUSN 201: Foundations of Business, Fall 2022

Description of the Job:
In response to a changing business world, the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business launched a strategic plan to harness and build on strengths, ensure continued innovation and impact, and boldly ignite collaborative energy among students, faculty, staff, alumni and the business community in Richmond and beyond.

The Business Essentials Unit in the School of Business is recruiting applicants for the position of Adjunct Instructor for BUSN 201: Foundations of Business for the Fall 2022 semester.

This course is 3-credit hours. The modality is hybrid in-person and online with an enrollment of 150-200 students per section.

As an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business, you will help support the new School of Business strategic plan that focuses on creativity in the curriculum. “Drive the future of Business through the power of creativity."

Required Qualifications:
-Master’s degree in Business or related field.
-5 + years experience in business with expertise in one or more of the following, Accounting, HR, Real Estate, Finance, IS, Supply Chain, Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing)
-Teaching experience, higher education.
-Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching.
-Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Business.
-Demonstrated excellence in teaching courses with high enrollment (150-200 students) in higher education
-Experience teaching in-person and online.
-Experience teaching over Zoom.
-Experience with Canvas or other LMS.
-Established network of professionals in Business to serve as guest speakers.

Salary Range: The salary rate is determined by enrollment, credit hours, and number of sections taught.
