Position Summary

The University of Georgia seeks a dynamic and collaborative instructional leader to direct UGA’s Active Learning Quality Enhancement Plan ( QEP ), a multi-pronged set of initiatives designed to institutionalize the use of active learning practices in the undergraduate classroom and across campus. The five-year QEP (2022-2027) is a project to enhance student learning and achievement that is developed and implemented as part of UGA’s decennial reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

Reporting to the Senior VP for Academic Affairs and Provost, the Director of Active Learning will lead a Management Team of faculty and administrative leaders to organize, implement, and assess initiatives to increase active learning practice by instructors, prepare students for success in active learning settings, and renovate classrooms to support active learning practice. The Director will represent the Active Learning QEP to campus, promoting participation across schools, colleges, and administrative units.

Promote participation for student and faculty in active learning programs by increasing awareness and involvement through actions such as, but not limited to, overseeing the development and maintenance of the Active Learning website and digital resources, organizing showcase events, planning and coordinating the Active Learning Summit, and recruiting, training, and deploying student ambassadors.
