Position Summary:

This is a clinical (non-tenure) faculty position in the Division of Geriatrics & Gerontology at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. The successful candidate will provide clinical teaching to medical students, residents and fellows and have additional responsibilities at UW Hospital for providing education during inpatient wards rotations. The faculty member will provide a dual role as primary care physician and specialty care physician. This position will provide primary care to older adult patients in one or more outpatient geriatric clinics, with some care provided in nursing homes. The focus for specialty care will be for the Perioperative Optimization of Senior Health (POSH) clinic to expand the National Model of Pre-operative Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment for at risk older patients undergoing elective surgeries.

Principal Duties:

Provide clinical patient care at UW Health approved locations as a primary care physician with a primary care patient panel. Work within a geriatric clinical care team including physician and Nurse Practitioner providers. Work with the Medical Director of Ambulatory Operations to expand the Perioperative Optimization of Senior Health (POSH) clinic.

Provide teaching to medical students, residents and fellows within the context of the clinical practice, including education during inpatient wards rotations.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD, DO or equivalent.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Completed accredited geriatric and internal medicine training.

License or Certificate:

Eligible for Wisconsin Medical license.
