Job Description

Office Support Assistant II – part-time (evenings/weekends/holidays)

Office Support Assistants provide all client services for the Emergency service of the Veterinary Health Center, such as handling all incoming phone calls, checking in all patients, processing payments, assisting with financing needs, communication between clients and emergency medical personnel, etc,

Receive emergency cases and page trauma/emergency personnel as needed. Maintain front desk receptionist duties to schedule and admit patients to the Veterinary Health Center. Work closely with veterinarians, technicians and staff to ensure the veterinary business rules are followed. Greet clients, verify all personal information is correct, register patient in hospital information system to open record. Answer hospital emergency line, appropriately route calls, and gather information. Discharge patient from computer system, collect money and make change. Effectively manage dynamic, potentially stressful client encounter. Maintain the general appearance of the waiting room and reception area.

Salary

Salary range: $10.43 - $16.77/ hour

GGS Grade: 4

Shift

Part-time position. Shifts would vary due to the needs of the clinic. Possible shifts include 6pm - 12am through the week and 8am - 4pm or 4pm - 12am on the weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a medical setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and excellent customer service skills
