LECTURER - HUMAN DEVELOPMENT IN INFANCY & CHILDHOOD

Minimum $41,500 ACADEMIC (9 months)

Position Summary:

UW-Madison; Educational Psychology Department is seeking a candidate to teach a three-credit undergraduate level Educational Psychology course: Human Development in Infancy and Childhood. This course is offered to undergraduate students of all majors through the Department of Educational Psychology in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

This course, Human Development in Infancy and Childhood, provides a broad overview of developmental changes from conception to childhood (0-8 years). The course is designed to characterize and examine normative changes in physical/motor, perceptual, cognitive, language, emotional, and social development. The format for the course is in-person/face-to-face. The class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

PhD required in psychology, educational psychology, human development, or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

1. Current knowledge of the relevant discipline
2. Prior teaching experience with undergraduate students
3. Ability to respond to the needs of learners from a variety of educational backgrounds and learning styles
4. Ability to use technology effectively, specific experience using an online learning management system
5. Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
6. Excellent written communication skills
7. Good organizational skills and timeliness in responding to student inquiries

Preferred
1. Experience in using Canvas learning management system
2. Understanding of technological trends and delivering high quality education
