Job Summary:

The Mental Health Provider, Eating Disorder Coordinator is responsible for leading the eating disorder
mental health model within MHS. The Mental Health Provider, Eating Disorder Coordinator will provide
clinical services and campus-based programming to university students, with a focus on students
with eating disorders. This provider supports the interdisciplinary treatment model of eating disorders
across mental health, medical, nutrition, and psychiatry providers through eating disorder program
development, coordination of care, and consultation with University Health Service
providers
Principal duties:
55-65% Direct Clinical Service:
1) Provides individual therapy, group therapy, and care management with a focus on students with
eating disorders in a brief treatment setting;
2) Participates in the provision of clinical crisis services and on-call mental health services (during
business hours);
3) Administers and oversees eating disorder level of care assessments procedures
4) Provides supervision of assigned trainees including goal setting, evaluations, and disciplinary
action in accordance with training policy and procedures.
20% Program Coordination:
1) Coordinates University Health Services Eating Disorder Work Group meetings focused on
integrative and multidisciplinary care for eating disorders across University Health Services
departments;
2) Leads biweekly Mental Health Services, Eating Disorder Consult Group to support eating disorder assessment, treatment, and care management processes within Mental Health Services
3) Provides consultation regarding level of care and treatment planning for students with disordered eating to MHS mental health and care management providers;
4) Collaborates and consults with community providers who specialize in and provide services for
UW-Madison students with eating disorders, with a focus on maintaining an updated referral database;
5) Makes policy and procedure recommendations regarding services and programming for students
with eating disorders;
6) Provides continuing education presentations to trainees, staff, and external organizations related
to eating disorders, based on agency and/or campus need;
15-25% Administrative:
1) Maintains accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations;
2) Involved in the development and implementation of programs and services at MHS
3) Collaborates with providers and staff in UHS units and with campus partners
4) Follows agency policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical
guidelines, best practices,
HIPAA, and FERPA;
5) Attends staff and workgroup meetings, as assigned;
6) Attends Mental Health Services sponsored professional development activities;
7) Serves on internal and external committees;
8) Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Provides professional mental health counseling and consultation services for the campus community, incorporates a brief therapeutic model to address the emotional and behavioral needs of students, creates developmental programming to increase healthy lifestyle and coping behaviors across campus, and provides strategic direction and advocacy for university mental health policy and initiatives.

• 80% Provides individual and group counseling to students struggling with developmental and/or personal mental health issues and refers students to appropriate community resources
• 5% Provides counseling and/or information and referral services to faculty and staff
• 5% Facilitates psycho-educational and process-oriented groups
• 5% Prepares presentations and outreach activities and facilitates student adjustment and success programs to promote a healthy campus
• 5% Serves on multidisciplinary campus committees

Education:

Required
Master's Degree
Master's degree in counseling/clinical
or related mental health field.

Qualifications:

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Required: Minimum of one year of experience in the area of eating disorder treatment.
Strongly preferred experiences of the candidate include:
1) Minimum of one year of experience in a diverse college or adolescent/young adult mental health treatment setting;
2) Experience in various levels of care for patients/clients with eating disorders including
assessment, treatment and coordination of care;
3) Experience in an interdisciplinary treatment setting and participation in multidisciplinary teams,
with a focus on eating disorders;
4) Experience in brief intervention and mental health crisis assessment;
5) Experience in consultation and collaboration with campus or community partners and the provision of campus-based services/outreach, including experience developing campus-wide programs;
6) Demonstrated attentiveness to intersectionality and health disparities, and commitment to
continued development of cultural competencies; and
7) Supervision of trainees.

License/Certification:

Required
LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor
Current Licensed or license eligible in Wisconsin as a Licensed Professional Counselor,
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or National Certified Counselor. Wisconsin license required within one year of hire.

The posted salary is the minimum. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. The Counselor title series will have a higher starting salary.
