Job Summary:

This is a clinical faculty (non-tenure) position within the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology. The successful candidate will be engaged in providing clinical patient care at UW Health approved locations. Academic duties will include clinical teaching of fellows, residents and medical students and other scholarly participation.

Responsibilities:

For appointments hired on Clinical Track:
Position responsibilities for patient care include clinical care for patients with rheumatic diseases at UW Health approved locations. Responsibilities will also include clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and other service appropriate to the position.

For appointments hired on Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) Track:
Provide patient care at UW Health approved location(s); provide clinical teaching to medical students and/or residents and fellows. Division of Rheumatology provides faculty with ample opportunities for medical education and scholarship. Time is expected to be spent on clinical research activities and academic service.

Education:

Required
Terminal Degree
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO); board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Rheumatology

Qualifications:

Completed accredited Rheumatology fellowship training.

Formal experience in teaching, both didactic and in the clinical setting, of Rheumatology to learners enrolled in a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or American Osteopathic Association Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (AOACOCA) accredited medical school and/or Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited program.

Candidates for Associate/Full Professor (CHS or CT) must meet criteria for rank per UW-Madison guidelines.

License/Certification:

Required
Eligible for State of Wisconsin medical license

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
