Job Description

The Department of Engineering Management at GUST invites applications for a Head of Department position to start in Fall 2022.

The ideal candidate must be ambitious and demonstrate the ability to work both individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team where scientific creativity is essential. The candidate should possess excellent communication skills in English, along with leadership and management skills to conduct the daily departmental activities.

Minimum Qualifications

The applicant must have completed a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or any related field from a reputable North American (U.S. or Canada) or European university with extensive teaching experience and an academic rank of Associate / Full Professor. The State of Kuwait does not recognize degrees from online universities. The successful candidate should have a significant research record, demonstrated by a strong academic portfolio, among other, articles in leading peer-reviewed journals, funded research projects, etc. In addition, the applicant should work in close collaboration with the research centers of the graduate and research office at GUST.

Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) was established in 2002 as Kuwait's first private American-model liberal arts university and affiliated with the University of Missouri Saint Louis (UMSL) and will be offering the engineering programs in affiliation with Missouri University of Science & Technology (Missouri S&T). GUST currently offers several programs in Arts and Sciences and Business, including an MBA degree. GUST is internationally accredited by various bodies, including ABET/CAC (Computer Science), ACA (Mass Communication), AACSB (Business), NOSS (Foundation Program Unit), and CEA (Foundation Program in English).
