About the Clinical Psychology Program at the Washington DC Campus
The Clinical Psychology Program at the Washington DC Campus is a flagship program at The Chicago School. The Washington DC program started in 2010 and is accredited by the American Psychological Association. The program is known for its active and engaged student body, nationally and internationally recognized faculty, and dedication to social justice and diversity. Graduates of the Clinical Psychology Program go on to be highly sought-after practitioners and experts in their field. The Role in Brief
The Department Chair of the Clinical Psychology Program at the Washington DC Campus of The Chicago School is the academic leader responsible for the success of this core program, including program strategy and growth, accreditation, academics, faculty, admissions, and student success. The Department Chair reports directly to the Campus Dean at the Washington DC Campus.

This position will be based at the Washington DC Campus, with opportunities for flexible work arrangements.

Primary Areas of Responsibility

• Program Strategy, Development, and Maintenance of Accreditation
  
• Maintain collegial and supportive relationships with relevant accrediting and professional bodies and ensure completion of required reporting or documentation
  
• Ensure the program meets all quality, relevance, and currency standards and goals
  
• Develop strategic academic and budget plans for department, including recommendations derived from the assessment and program review process
  
  Programmatic Oversight: Academics and Administration
  
• Lead the Clinical Psychology program through all significant academic and administrative decisions and milestones across the year
  
• Create and maintain a course schedule and operations schedule; ensuring students have the on-ground support necessary to support their educational goals
  
• Develop and manage to an annual budget in accordance with university guidelines
  
  Faculty and Staff Management and Support
  
• Hire and manage all full-time and adjunct faculty for the program, ensuring all faculty meet or exceed established quality standards, achieve performance goals, and support institutional and campus priorities
  
• Supervise all faculty-driven activities, including teaching, advisement, dissertation support, and any other essential activities to meet the department's academic goals
  
• Facilitate all program faculty meetings
  
• Steward an inclusive culture among faculty, staff and students that promotes inclusive decision making and integrating diverse perspectives
  
  Oversight of Program Admissions and Student Success
  
• Manage all programmatic admissions support, including reviewing admissions files, interviewing prospective students, and making admissions decisions
  
• Drive all grassroots recruitment activities for the department, including academic partnerships, referrals, and events
  
• Manage all programmatic activities to support student success and retention
  
  Qualifications:
  
• Licensed, doctoral-level clinical psychologist (doctorate must be from an APA-accredited program) with credentials and expertise that are consistent with the mission of the department and the institution
  
• 5+ years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required
  
• 3+ years of experience as an academic administrator is preferred
  
• Strong people development skills, including experience with providing opportunities and support for faculty and staff to excel at supporting student engagement and success
  
• Ability to manage competing priorities through effective delegation of key activities to faculty and staff to ensure timely execution of administrative priorities
  
• Ability to use exceptional interpersonal communication skills to communicate decisions, build consensus, and effectively motivate and collaborate in a matrixed environment
  
• Experience working with diverse audiences and building an inclusive workplace culture
