The Joan Phelps Palladino School of Dance is looking for
dynamic, experienced, student-centered educators to teach assigned
lower and upper division studio-based courses in Ballet, Jazz
Dance, Hip Hop, Classical and Contemporary Modern Dance,
Contemporary Partnering Techniques, Tap Dance, Ethnic and Cultural
Dance forms, Dance Composition and Choreography, Dance Pedagogy,
LMA, or Pilates.
The College seeks Adjunct Faculty who focus on experiential
learning and active engagement in their classrooms. Adjuncts chosen
to teach at Dean College create a compelling and professional
learning environment for students of diverse learning
All faculty will be expected to make active use of the learning
management system Canvas at least at a minimum level established by
the college. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold one office hour
each week for each section they teach. The adjunct pay rate is
$3,200 per section for a course that meets for the equivalent of
three weekly contact hours per semester.
The Palladino School of Dance provides a course charter with
course objectives and learning outcomes and sample syllabi.
Adjunct Faculty in Dance positions are filled as needed, based on
student enrollment. Candidates may need to be available to begin
teaching on short notice. The Fall semester begins September 7,
2022 and ends December 15, 2022.
