Summary

The Hood College’s Department of Nursing invites applications for an Adjunct Mental Health Nursing Instructor position beginning the Fall 2022 semester. The Mental Health Nursing Instructor will provide students with instruction of the highest standards, evaluate student progress, assist in preparation of syllabi, assist in activities furthering the work of the institution, communicate necessary information to students, and provide academic advice to students as needed. The Adjunct Instructor will teach the didactic portion of the Mental Health Nursing course to junior BSN students. 

We seek a candidate with a strong commitment in a liberal arts setting, who is passionate about high-impact learning experiences, and who values diversity, equity and inclusion in all that they do.  Candidates must have strong organizational skills and proven ability to work collaboratively across academic disciplines.

Education and/or Experience 

An unencumbered license as a registered nurse eligible to practice in the state of Maryland; teaching experience in nursing preferred.  A background in mental health care is required.  A master’s degree in a nursing field is required.  A doctorate in nursing or highly related field is preferred.
