Position Summary

The Nursing Department at Governors State University is seeking to fill a Tenure/Tenure-track Family Nurse Practitioner faculty position in the College of Health and Human Services. The successful candidate will teach across the curriculum in the RN- BSN, MSN and DNP programs and help with the building of a caring, global community of nurses capable of meeting the needs of healthcare institutions.

Governors State University is the only regional, public, comprehensive university in Chicago’s south suburban area, serving approximately 7,750 students annually. GSU provides accessible, high value undergraduate and graduate education to culturally and economically diverse students. GSU is planning a state-of-the-art General Education program and working to greatly expand student academic and support services to foster student and community engagement. Faculty at GSU must demonstrate enthusiasm and ability to work with students at all levels, from first-year to graduate.

Minimum Qualifications

1. DNP or PhD in nursing or related field;
2. Master’s Degree with a Major in Nursing;
3. Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner ( FNP )
4. Current nursing license with eligibility for licensure in the state of Illinois.

Preferred Qualifications

The desired candidate will have a record of current practice, scholarly activities, nursing education experience and other appropriate certifications.
