Position Summary:
The Department of Criminology, Sociology, & Geography at Arkansas State University seeks to hire a Temporary Instructor of Sociology and Criminology for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Able to teach introductory-level courses in Criminal Justice, Criminology, and Sociology as well as occasional upper-level courses in their fields of expertise
- Teaching load is a 5-5 with no service requirements
- Evidence of an active research agenda is preferred
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required or applicable to the position responsibilities and area of specialization, including special abilities
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Sociology, Criminology, or a
related field from an accredited institution and be able to teach
introductory level courses in Criminal Justice, Criminology, and
Sociology as well as occasional upper level courses in their fields
of expertise
