Position Summary
University of Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is seeking a Clinical Assistant or Associate to fill a position that provides direction and leadership to implement emergency care standards, practice and competencies of the Oishei Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, New York. The Emergency Department Physician assists the Chief to meet or exceed expected outcome measures including patient satisfaction, length of stay, and clinical standards. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining effective and responsive relationships with patients, managing professional and clerical staff. Ability to provide Fast Track Pediatric care, handle minor and complex lacerations, perform procedural sedation and clinical procedures as qualified. Must be interested in teaching students, residents and fellow.
We are a growing division with 11 faculty members with an ACGME accredited fellowship program. Our recently new 28 bed ED (19 exam; 5 kids express & 4 trauma) serves 45,000 pediatric patients per year, has an operational Helipad and is the only level 1 pediatric trauma center in Western New York.
Minimum Qualifications
Board Certified or Eligible Pediatrician
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with recent Emergency Medicine experience are preferred.
