Job Summary
The Academic Success Coach I, under general supervision, recruits and advises students concerning their career goals and academic requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides academic advice and guidance to students. Provides
input on probationary status decisions.
- Reviews academic records and test scores on file for course
recommendations. Monitors student progress and degree requirements.
Verifies completion of degree requirements. Reviews and provides
input on scholarship applications.
- Answers inquiries and provides information to prospective
students, students, and parents. Meets with and refers students to
available resources and departments. Assists students with
adds/drops, withdrawals, and changes of curriculum. Maintains
records of student contacts.
- Creates and gives presentations about the University to
visiting groups. Develops and presents training materials and
programs. Participates in events, activities, and programs. Assists
with coordination of special initiatives. Assists with family
visits and group tours.
- Provides leadership for faculty advisors on academic
advising-related activities. Prepares academic and advising
reports.

Minimum Requirements
- Education - Bachelor's degree.
- Experience - One year experience in advising and recruiting
preferred.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Word processing, spreadsheet, and database
applications.
- Student information systems, degree planning, and degree
audits.
Ability to:
- Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Present information clearly and concisely.
- Work with sensitive information and maintain
confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical, interpersonal, and organizational
skills.

Salary: $16.04/hourly
