Description

The Department of Economics at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for two positions beginning Fall of academic year 2022-23. Applicants of any rank and from all fields will be considered, although no more than one position will be filled at the full professor level. Appointees are expected to engage in high quality research/scholarly activities, be effective teachers at the graduate and undergraduate levels, direct graduate research, and exhibit a commitment to service to the department, college, and university.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or expect it by August 2022 for tenure-track positions; applicants for tenured positions must hold a Ph.D. and have a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.

The department is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching, research and service. Applicants are invited to submit a statement describing how their experience would help them make such a contribution. Examples might come from research, methodological and pedagogical approaches, teaching content, mentoring and recruiting activities, community engagement, interdisciplinary collaborations, or experiences working with underrepresented communities on and off campus.

Assistant Professor candidates should also provide three original signed letters of reference and samples of recent papers and publications. Salary is highly competitive and dependent on upon qualifications and experience. Position funding is subject to budget availability.
