Vacancy Number: S-00877 Position Title: Web Developer (Graphic Designer) Classification Title: Senior Programmer Analyst Department: Advanced Technologies Employment Type: Full-Time Duties and Responsibilities:
Advanced Technologies is seeking a full time Web Developer / Graphic Designer to provide support and maintenance services for existing client’s, Alabama State Department of Education ( ALSDE ), website. The successful candidate would be expected to develop and create the look, layout, and features of the ALSDE website as defined by ALSDE and perform the following:
  • Provide support and maintenance Services for existing ALSDE website.
  • Development of new website features and functionality as defined by ALSDE .
  • Perform any other closely related professional services typically associated with website development, maintenance, and support, including but not limited to activities such as:
    • Writing and editing content
    • Designing webpage layout
    • Determining technical requirements
    • Updating websites
    • Creating back up files
    • Solving code problems
    • Training
    • Preparation of documentation
    • Conduct technical presentations
    • End-user interface
    • Other problem-solving tasks
Other duties may be assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Knowledge of current developments in Information Technology applications.
  • Knowledge of standalone and client/server applications in Windows environment.
  • Documented experience in the use of Microsoft development systems, i.e., Visual Studio, SQL, . NET, Visual Basic, VB Scripts, JavaScript, HTML, XML, SQL Server, Transact- SQL .
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript for rapid prototyping
  • Documented experience in basic and advanced web design
  • Documented experience in graphic and multimedia design.
  • Documented experience in multimedia programming and technology
  • Knowledge of content management
  • Problem analysis skills.
  • Ability to work on and respond to multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to apply relevant software & hardware tools.
  • Ability to continuously learn and keep abreast of technological trends.
  • Ability to manage project activities.
  • Ability to coordinate the work of others.
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) and Visio.
  • Ability to work independently and not rely on State or other team members for direction.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field with two (2) to three (3) years of professional design experience.
