Basic Function
This is a professional expert opportunity.
This is for a professional expert pool that will be used to staff part-time head coach position for the 2022 academic year.
Representative Duties
Duties may consist of assignments in the fall and/or spring semesters as well as the program's extended summer session.
This is a, part-time head coaching Kinesiology and Athletics - Head of Men's Baseball. This assignment includes coaching and an instructional assignment teaching intercollegiate baseball courses to a student population that is highly diverse in terms of academic preparation, cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds as well as physical and learning abilities.
This assignment will also require coaching at games/tournaments that are scheduled in the evening and/or Saturdays.
Minimum Qualifications
Any bachelor's degree AND two years of coaching experience/professional experience.
OR
Any associate degree AND six years of coaching experience/professional experience.
AND
A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Knowledge and Abilities
Provide coaching, instructional, and/or non-instructional services as specified by assignment in a diverse campus and community environment.
Keep accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and scholastic progress.
Maintain currency in subject matter and/or service area.
Communicate with students and staff in a professional manner.
Demonstrate versatility in coaching/instructional methodology and versatility in serving a diverse student population.
Be familiar with and observe appropriate college and Board policies, and current guidelines governing college sports, i.e. CCCAA, CVC, NCAA, NAIA.
Willingness to promote Porterville College through community service and outreach within the local community.
Ability and willingness to develop appropriate fundraising activities to support the Men's Baseball program.
