Position Description

The University of Washington Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences in the School of Medicine is seeking candidates for two full-time faculty positions available at the rank of Assistant Professor without tenure (WOT) by reason of funding.  Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.  The anticipated start date is July 1, 2022.  Duties include supporting consult and outpatient services at Harborview and UW Medical Centers, and contributing to departmental teaching and training missions in the clinical setting. This includes clinical care and the teaching of residents, fellows and medical students. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.    

Qualifications
  • MD or DO or foreign equivalent, completion of an ACGME-accredited residency and Board Certification in Psychiatry (i.e., certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry)
  • In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
