HANOVER COLLEGE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor (with the possibility of renewal) in Creative Writing with the ability to teach American Literature starting in August 2018. The candidate should exhibit both a record of excellence in teaching in multi-genre Creative Writing and knowledge of American Literature. A record of publication in any primary genre of Creative Writing is also desirable. This position will support our Creative Writing minor and English major by teaching a 3-3-1 schedule that currently includes a fiction and poetry workshop; creative non-fiction workshop; sections of the college’s writing requirement; and upper-level American Literature courses to include African American and Minority Literature. The individual will also serve as advisor to the college’s literary magazine Kennings. Candidates are required to have their PhD or MFA in hand at the time of application.
