The Decision, Operations & Information Technologies Department at the Smith
School of Business is home to faculty who focus their teaching and research on the
nexus of strategy, operations, analytics, and technology. The department has strong
and expanding industry partnerships and a top-10 ranking in the Management
Information Systems program.
Growth in the undergraduate Information Systems major and the MS in Information
Systems program has created opportunities for teaching faculty who want to
contribute to the development and mentorship of students who are positioned to be
future leaders of Business-Technology. We are seeking individuals who are
comfortable straddling the worlds of business and technology and providing in-depth
technology instruction within a business context.
Opportunities exist in the following areas:
• Application of programming languages such as Python, R, S Plus, as well as
associated tools and libraries in solving business problems
• Structured and unstructured data management (analysis, design,
implementation)
• Analysis and design of business processes and business systems
• Harnessing of business productivity from technologies such as Blockchain, the
Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Causal Inferencing, and use-inspired
AI.
This is a full-time, professional track faculty position in either the Lecturer or Clinical
categories, depending on education, and previous work experience.
The ideal candidate for this position will be passionate about creating a positive
impact on business and society through technology. The position requires a graduate
degree in a related discipline. A PhD in a related discipline, work and teaching

experience will be viewed positively. Evidence of teaching quality and ability to
provide leadership in teaching excellence are the most important qualifications.
