POSITION SUMMARY Grinnell College, Department of Physical Education/Intercollegiate Athletics, has a part-time term assistant volleyball coach position open. Assistant Volleyball Coach, Term position, Part-time, 975 hours/year, Non-Exempt, S4 Career Level Responsibilities: include assisting the head coach with on court teaching, practice preparation, game planning, tape breakdown, scouting calls, recruiting contacts and travel, and any other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: · Coach Responsibilities – work with specific sub-group(s) of student-athletes; practice planning; video/technical review and analysis; conduct team, group, individual meetings with students; focus on skill development and team culture building · Recruiting Responsibilities – work with head coach and enrollment office to identify, target, recruit and yield high-level student-athletes; represent Grinnell College at recruiting events; communicate effectively with prospective student-athletes and their families · Operations – as directed by the head coach. Duties could include, but are not limited to: travel planning, equipment management, maintenance of facility, monitoring student-athlete academic success Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree • Strong interpersonal skills • Ability to use multiple modes of communication effectively across all levels of constituencies • Independently organizes and manages workloads in an efficient manner • Ability to coach, assist, and develop strategies that positively impact recruitment, player development, in game outcomes of the program • Champions Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Preferred Qualifications

- must be able to demonstrate the ability to coach at the college level.
- should possess an understanding of NCAA Division III and conference rules and regulations.
- need to possess a strong work ethic and organizational skills.
- must be able to demonstrate an understanding of and/or experience in a residential, liberal arts college environment.
- requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- having participated or coached volleyball is preferred.
