Information Technology Services as a Network Generalist or Network
Specialist.
This position is offered in two different tracks, dependent upon the level of experience: Network Generalist and Network Specialist. It is assumed that the Network Generalist will ultimately progress to becoming a Specialist, the professional development for which will be provided. This position is in the Network Services team and covers a broad range of technologies, sharing responsibility for the maintenance and operation of campus-wide network systems and services including virtual Windows and Linux servers, Office 365, and enterprise network management. The Network Services team currently supports approximately 50 unique enterprise network platforms and services for the campus community. To ensure business continuity the Network Generalist/Specialist will work closely with System Administrators in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and will participate in both formal and informal training opportunities to gain proficiency and expertise. The Network Specialist position will participate in the on-call rotation with other Network Services colleagues, and will be expected to perform roles of higher responsibility. This position is eligible for up to 3 days per week remote, following an initial introduction period (typically 3-6 months). Minimum Qualifications Network Generalist: Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school – or three years specific experience
