The Office of Admissions is welcoming applications for an Associate Director of Marketing and Communication Strategies. This role supports the institution's enrollment marketing and communication initiatives, including developing and implementing strategies and marketing efforts that support the increased enrollment of diverse and best-fit students. In addition, this position is responsible for working closely with the admissions team, staff and faculty to lead efforts in communicating with prospective students and other constituents to support the institutions recruitment objectives.

General responsibilities: 

  • Project Manager for all aspects related to creating, writing, and editing content for use in admissions marketing & communications materials.
  • Serve as liaison for campus constituents to coordinate communication strategies during the critical stages of the admission funnel and cycle.
  • Establish, maintain and coordinate the annual marketing/communications plan & calendar throughout the admissions cycle.
  • Assist with ensuring the admissions web presence remains dynamic and current.
  • Review, manage and approve marketing content across traditional and digital channels with content providers and edit/track for consistency, accuracy, and timeliness. Assure the integrity, quality, and consistency of the institution's image, tone, style, narrative, visual identity, and brand.
  • Manage the admission’s Customer Relations Management System (CRM) usage to engage prospective students and special groups with appropriate communication.
  • Collaborate with external constituents and vendors as needed to fulfill various marketing and enrollment-based initiatives while ensuring consistent and effective brand marketing
  • Stay updated on current trends and the needs of various target audiences to develop impactful marketing and communications materials.
  • Participate in admission recruitment activities, which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Serve as a liaison to External Affairs

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor degree is required and equivalent experience in marketing, communications, or business with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in marketing required.
  • Direct marketing experience, including experience with developing marketing plans for enrollment marketing in an agency or marketing-related field.
  • Demonstrated computer competency with common production software suites, such as photo editing software, email marketing tools, and analytics reporting software.
  • Experience with design tools and platforms.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with internal and external constituencies and with professionals of varied disciplines to accomplish tasks and projects.
  • Experience in facilitating and managing projects to completion
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Experience in a marketing and communications role with a focus on print and digital strategies.
  • Demonstrated digital literacy and experience with content management systems.
  • Proven editorial planning, content creation and copy-editing skills.
  • Experience with customer relationship management tools. (i.e. Ellucian/Recruit or comparable)
  • Experience in staff supervision.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • A valid U.S. Driver’s License or the ability to demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience working in communications role(s) that support recruitment, enrollment management, and/or admissions activities required.
  • Experience with cross-cultural, multi-cultural and/or international audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and executing across multiple communications and marketing channels and media; highly developed skills in communications writing and editing;
  • Experience in marketing and digital analytics.
  • Ability to adapt tone and style of content for different mediums and target audiences, while working within the framework of an established brand.
  • Strong creative and media design experience.
  • Familiarity with Associated Press style.
  • Experience in college admission, high school counseling or community-based organization setting.

Salary:     $65,000 to $70,000.  The Academy offers generous benefits policies and a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is exempt under FLSA. The Academy is not sponsoring immigration visas at this time.
