Job Description:

The Title IX Coordinator manages the College's response to all reports of gender inequity, harassment, discrimination, abuse, and violence, which includes reports of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking. Informed by current federal and state laws and guidance, the Coordinator aims to ensure that the College responds promptly and effectively, stopping problematic behavior, preventing its recurrence, and remedy its effects.

The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for the College's compliance with federal and state laws including, Title IX, Title VII, The Clery Act amended by the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and NYS Article 129-B. The Coordinator organizes the daily responsibilities associated with conducting prompt, equitable, impartial and thorough responses to Title IX- related reporting including management of the formal complaint process. The Coordinator is a resource for all members of the Saint Rose community including students, faculty and staff facilitating supportive measures internally and externally as needed. The Coordinator is responsible for the College's compliance with data collection and report generation for federal and state reporting requirements; serves as an institutional liaison internally and externally with Title IX Coordinators, Prevention Educators, investigators, security officers, law enforcement, and community agency professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversees the College's response to gender discrimination, which includes all forms of sexual harassment and violence, to ensure prompt and equitable resolution of all complaints.
  2. Provides a central place to report an incident and oversees the reporting process.
  3. Provides information about College policies and procedures, rights, reporting options, and resources.
  4. Provides referrals to campus and community resources and victim advocates.
  5. Facilitates supportive and/or safety measures to address safety concerns and to support all parties so that academic and professional pursuits may continue unimpeded.
  6. Communicate with parties while protecting the independence, neutrality, integrity and privacy of the parties as well as the investigation.
  7. Collaborates with campus and/or community partners to assist with a resolution that balances the needs of the individuals involved with those of the larger community.
  8. Maintains accurate and thorough records and identifies patterns of behavior notifying appropriate campus and/or community officials as required.
  9. Oversees investigations of misconduct to ensure fairness, impartiality, and equity, including coordinating administrative needs and hearing process.
  10. Coordinates and provides federal and state mandated training, education, and prevention programs for the entire College community.
  11. Collaborates with the Office of Campus Safety & Security, Counseling Services, Student Development, and/or Human Resources, and other offices as required regarding Title IX response and support efforts.
  12. Advises senior leadership on potential risk management concerns related to reports and/or investigations.
  13. Develop and conduct a comprehensive assessment plan to ensure effectiveness; Interpret results to modify and redesign future program plans.
  14. Stay abreast of federal and state regulatory requirements and inform the College of implementation timelines.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree, with a Master's or Juris Doctorate degree preferred.
  2. At least three years of experience in Title IX coordination activities in a higher education setting is required.
  3. Demonstrated experience interpreting and navigating Title IX, Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, NYS Article 129-B and the Clery Act.
  4. Proven ability to communicate effectively while handling situations involving confidential and sensitive, emotionally charged issues, content and language is required.
  5. Experience working with a diverse population, demonstrated intercultural competency and ability to integrate unique needs and concerns of diverse constituencies into education efforts.
  6. Outstanding leadership, networking and communication skills, including public speaking, giving presentations and written communication.
  7. Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate effectively with students, staff, faculty, department heads, administration, parents, and College Trustees, as well as legal counsel, law enforcement and other external agencies. Excellent organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  8. Availability to work some evenings and weekends

Nor does this visa sponsorship policy apply to administrative, support, technical or other positions. Exceptions to the prior prohibitions may be made in circumstances where the College, in its discretion and on a case-by-case basis, decides to provide visa sponsorship for certain staff positions. The College retains the right to make decisions about visa sponsorship that support the College's business and academic needs, including providing visa sponsorship for only certain academic titles. Visa sponsorships are based solely on the needs of the College and at the sole discretion of the College.
