The Department of Computer Science & Information Systems in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) invites applicants for a full-time, Limited-Term Cyber Security Faculty member for fall 2022.  The appointment is renewable for up to two years.  The successful candidate will teach cybersecurity and computer science courses such as computer security and forensics, network security, or specialty electives such as Linux, reverse engineering, secure software development. Relevant credentials, experience and/ or research in cybersecurity is strongly preferred.  Selected candidates may be required to teach on multiple campuses. 

  • Responsible for teaching four undergraduate cyber security related courses per semester.
  • Use innovative teaching and learning techniques to provide high quality learning experiences in and out of the classroom.
  • Engage with the university’s military connections and the emerging technology industry populating the north Georgia and Atlanta region.
  • Work with student projects, internships and competitions
  • Work with faculty on research projects
  • Support the culture of the department, MCCB, UNG, and its service community 
    • A PhD in computer science or related field required; may consider ABD with evidence that degree is nearing completion, or candidates with master’s degree in computer science and strong record of experience in the field.
    • Record of, or potential for high-quality, in-field scholarship.
    • Evidence of superior teaching abilities. 
    • Position is part of a DoD funded grant so requires selected candidate to have U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence Status in the U.S.
