Financial Aid Director

University of Wisconsin - Green Bay (UW-Green Bay), a part of the University of Wisconsin System, is a regional comprehensive university with four campuses in Green Bay, Manitowoc, Marinette, and Sheboygan. UW-Green Bay provides a pathway to degrees for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students across a 16-county region, serving nearly 9,000 students with growing enrollment each year over the last six years. The university's strategic plan for 2022-2025  focuses on improving student success and retention, including implementing an open-access mission to meet the region's needs and offering need-based scholarships to help remove financial barriers to recruitment and retention of students towards graduation.

The Position

Reporting to the assistant vice chancellor for enrollment services, the director will support the university's strategic priorities by leading the financial aid office with a focus on student recruitment and retention at all four of its campuses. As an integral member of the enrollment services team, the new director will leverage scholarships to open the door to higher education while awarding and disbursing federal, state, Institution, and foundation aid through its $42 million budget. A strategic and collaborative leader, the director will create a vision for modern financial aid systems to reduce barriers to student success while being firmly grounded in the regulatory guidelines necessary for federal and state compliance.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree, at least four years of direct experience leading a comprehensive financial aid operation, extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations related to financial aid management and compliance, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple offices to assist with the proper administration of aid. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, in-depth knowledge of a PeopleSoft Student Information system setup and operation, and knowledge and understanding of NCAA, Department of Defense, and Veterans' Administration regulations and requirements.
